Differences from Grey Seal: harbour seal has more rounded head and more prominent forehead (dog like), grey seal has no forehead and narrower head

Shorter forearms distinguish it from Grey Seal, can slightly see a flatter nose area too.

Large one in photo about 2 meters long. Harbor seals are brown, tan, or gray and spotted with distinctive V-shaped nostrils.

Spotted from a distance while on Wesley's Whale Watching Cruise. Also called common seal, has more rounded head than grey seal and I think brown/tan color more common.

Was about 5ft long. when we approached within 20ft the seal headed for the water and a few seconds later was 50m out to sea.
