Site Description: Noisy business park surrounded by forest. There were a couple last year at this location too. Comment : Next to busy intersection in bedford Rocky Lake business park. First Osprey sighting this year.
Site Description: Halifax Arm, along forest of Sir Stanford Flemming Park, Deadman's Island and Melville Cove. Comment : Were chasing an Eagle away at the time I saw them, many in the area all summer long I believe.
Site Description: Bedford Basin coastline, with rivers draining into it Comment : Saw at least 14 of them. Usually see big number late summer in this area, maybe mackeral running or small fish from rivers in area
Site Description: Bedford Basin and Mill Cove are popular spots for them, every august and september their numbers explode. Comment : Also known as known as the sea hawk or fish eagle. Saw at least 4 of them. Not far from Papermill Lake outfall, probably some minnows from it feeding them.
Site Description: mouth of Sackville River meeting Bedford Basin Comment : Spotted at least 9, seemed to be congregating here in the morning, then started to disperse throughout Halifax Harbour. A few had small fish, maybe trout from the river?
